Connection to T-SQL Through Azure MFA

Follow these steps to establish a secure connection to T-SQL Azure using Azure SQL Database MFA:

  1. Launch Visual Expert
    • Open Visual Expert and click [New] in the ribbon menu to start the "Create Project" wizard.
    • In the pop-up, select [Transact-SQL] for Azure connection setup.

  2. Select your SQL Server DB source
    • On the SQL Server database connection page, click on [SQL Server Database] to access the authentication options.

  3. Enable Azure MFA
    • Select the [Azure MFA] radio button.
    • Provide the required details for Microsoft Entra and SQL authentication.

  4. Provide Server Information
    • Enter the server name and your user ID (email address). This is critical for Azure Active Directory T-SQL integration.

  5. Test the Connection
    • Click [Test Connection] to verify the connection.
    • Once the connection has been established, select a database from the drop-down menu for analysis.

  6. Finalize the Setup
    • Click [Next] and follow the wizard to start analyzing the source code for the selected Azure SQL Database MFA project.
