E. Crane Computing announces
the release of Powergen V7.0
E. Crane Computing announces the release of PowerGen V7.0, the standard
tool for build automation and source control support for PowerBuilder.
This latest release of PowerGen offers many new enhancements and problem
fixes. The new features include support for PowerBuilder V11.0 with
continuing support for PowerBuilder V5.0 through V10.5.
Also included in PowerGen V7.0 is a Code Signing function which lets
PowerBuilder executables be signed with a Digital Certificate. This
unique feature enables Vista certification for PowerBuilder applications
and allows them to meet increasingly common security requirements.
For the first time PowerGen V7.0 is also delivered with a Diff program
for comparing source files, a program (ModScan) for “profiling”
the run-time requirements of an application and a diagnostic tool
(Deployment Doctor) for determining if the run-time environment of
an application matches that of the test environment.
This last tool allows a support engineer to quickly identify configuration
problems with an end-user’s application, for example
missing or mismatched DLLs.
